My Kiwano

.. after almost 3 months we did it: we moved into our flat!!!It was quite tough work to refurbish this little flat, but at least I learned something: I WILL NEVER WANT TO BUILD A HOUSE!! Although I have to admit that the work was really worth it, as we made out of an really old flat a very fresh new modern one, and we could arrange everything like we wanted to, so the result is very satisfying! In fact I didn’t want to post some pics as I want you all to come around and visit us … but I we are just so proud, so here we go:

… jetzt hab ich mal endlich Zeit mal ein kurzes Update über unsere Wohnung zu posten .. nachden ich jetzt 3 Tage wegen einer netten Angina und einer Mittelohrentzündung sozusagen lahmgelegt bin.
Zum Glück haben wir vergangenes Wochenende ganz ganz viel weitergebracht UND ab jetzt wird nicht mehr Dreck gemacht sondern Dreck weggeschaffen.
Vorzimmer Spots sind eingesetzt, die Küche ist gefliest und eingeräumt (und neu lackiert!!!) und die Steinmauer steht!!!! D.h. jetzt müssen nur noch die Feinarbeiten gemacht werden – und die neuen Möbel geliefert und zusammengebaut werden. D.h. der Plan ist dass wir das WM Finale am 11.Juli bereits in der Wohnung schauen können und dann nur mehr ein Zimmer weiter zum Schlafen gehen müssen.
Hier noch ein paar Eindrücke .. und achja: ich hatte fast vergessen: unser toller neuer Fernseher ist auch schon da (derzeit gibts nur ein Fotos in Verpackung – aber ich sag nur 40 Zoll – weiß – Samsung)

… last week we had a bank holiday in Austria and me and my girls we decided to go a bit south to enjoy some days outside of rainy Linz. So we booked a nice little hotel on lake garde in Italy and enjoyed 4 perfek (but very short) days in Peschiera, on the south coast of the lake.
We spent one day in Verona and one day we did a bike tour to Semione (which was MILES away from Peschiera!) … and the other time we were lying on the “beach” .. enjoying some amyzingly good Rose wine and had too much sea food! It was just a perfect girlys-weekend as you can see on the following pictures:

… just on Saturday we decided that we could actualy go and visit J in Prague as it was a bank holiday in Austria and with our flat … ok dont talk about this now …
So on Sunday morning we left to Prague which is about 250 km away from Linz … around 3,5 hours drive – this already tells you about the good road-conditions on the way there. But it all went well and J welcomed us in Prag, with a great traditional czech lunch .. and a red carpet.
After the amazing (and very heavy) food we went for a 6 hours walk around the city and we were really amazed by the city. Its very beautiful and so clean. We had great weather as well so everything was perfect. Also our timing was very good as yesterday it was the final of the I I H F World Championship – and Ice Hockey is the biggest sport in the Czech Republic. It was a very exciting game and in the end the czechs made it with 2:1 and got the cup! They were so many people in the city as they had a public viewing … was quite impressing.
So we had great 1,5 days in Prag – and we wish we could have stayed a bit longer with J … we had great long chats and it was very nice to meet a friend “from London” again. J, thanks again for your great hospitality and your time! We enjoyed it a lot!!!

JIPIIIIIIIIIII

… as most of you might have already known, Rudi and me, we were looking for a flat in Linz … to settle down! (I cant wait to settle down! haha …) so finaly we found one which is centrally located, has a good room division, has a loggia, is big enough and where we can kill the wall between kitchen and living room (very important) .. and is not too expensive as London ate almost all our money.
And we got the keys on the 15.April and since then we are working disquietingly .. 24 hours a day .. without breaks .. no ok .. we finished one room already!!
We did underestimate the amount of work you have to spend in a flat … but its going to be fine as my dad and Rudis brother and really all our friends are helping us a lot. Thanks for that at this stage.
So now we have one week left until the big bang (the killing of the wall between kitchen and living room) will happen and then we hope we will be able to move in latest by the End of Mai.

… sind sind sozusagen schon fast auf den Weg nach Ungarn zum jährlichen Oster-Verwandten-Besuch, wünschen also hiermit allen ein schönes Osterfest und (einen) erholsame(n) Feiertag(e).

… the main idea of our Blog was it to keep our friends in Linz updated about all the important (and not that important) happenings in London und to post picture for them in order not to forget us.
Now as I’m back home since November 2009 and Rudi will be back in 2 days, we don’t want to let KIWANO die.
We will just change the usage for it:
- from now on it will be a platform where we want to keep our friends in London updated in order to make them come for a visit! We want to keep in touch as much as we can, as we just had a great time with them, SO PLEASE: If you want to come to Austria, just let us know!
- also I will try to post all the upcoming (BIG) Events so it won’t happen again that someone is missing out on one …
- SIMPLE like that: we will just keep on telling our stories ….

… as you have been informed in advance on Kiwano – we spent my birthday weekend in Schlamding – AGAIN. And just let me tell everyone who missed it: SELBER SCHULD! We had a very cosy apparement in the middle of the center for 10 people – 6 party people from Linz, and 4 others from London (or better from Spain, Japan, Australia and New Zealand) … and on Friday night we rocked the “Tenne” till late.
ON Saturday was the Sports day .. we went for skiing and sledging (not to forget our 2 hours Siesta we had every day – thanks to our spanish friend Sara) …
Just let me tell you: IT WAS THE BEST BIRTHDAY I HAD EVER EVER EVER HAD .. IN MY WHOLE LIFE!! I SWEAR! …
and thanks at this stage as well to Sara, Saya, Ant and Steve for coming over! It was great fun … hope u enjoyed the birthday cakes and the digestive(s) … and hope so see you soon again in Austria – latest next year – same time, same place!! And also a big THANKS to the Austrian Party Girls!!!
